Did my job application go through?
How to tell whether an application on a company's careers page arrived: the confirmation email, where to look when it doesn't come, and how Workday, Oracle Cloud, Greenhouse and SmartRecruiters show your status. 24 October 2026.
The short answer. Look for the company's confirmation email. On most careers pages it comes within a minute: for JobsEye's applications, 88% got one, a median of 5 seconds after sending, and 9 in 10 of those within a minute. If none came, check spam and promotions, then the employer's candidate page. If the application isn't there either, it didn't go in.
Where to check, in order
- Your inbox, spam and promotions, for the company's name and the role title. On Workday, the email often comes from the employer's own Workday address.
- The employer's candidate page.
- Workday: sign in on that employer's careers site; "My Applications" on the candidate home lists every application to that company.
- Oracle Cloud: sign in with your email; a returning candidate gets a one-time code in their own inbox.
- Greenhouse and SmartRecruiters: there is usually no account; the confirmation email is the record.
- The form itself. A page that ended on an error, or a required question left blank, means the application wasn't submitted.
Why an application doesn't go through
- A required field was empty, or a file failed to upload.
- An email or code check was never completed (Workday account verification, Oracle's one-time code).
- The role closed while you were filling it in.
How JobsEye handles it
JobsEye applies on employers' own careers pages and shows each company's confirmation email in your JobsEye inbox. If a form can't be finished, the application isn't charged: it goes back to your balance.
Frequently asked questions
I got no email after applying. Did my application go through?
Check spam, then the employer's candidate page. On Workday, if the role is listed under "My Applications" on that company's site, it went in.
How long does a confirmation email take?
Usually under a minute. For JobsEye's applications the median was 5 seconds.
Workday says I have already applied. What does that mean?
That employer's Workday site already has an application from your account for that role. The status is on its candidate home page. --- JobsEye's figures are from its own applications, 29 August to 20 October 2026, our team's accounts left out. JobsEye is our product.
