# Not getting interview calls: what to check, in order

Applied to dozens of jobs and heard nothing? The five things to check, in the order they usually matter, with what JobsEye's own applications show about volume, replies and silence. 24 October 2026.

**The short answer.** Most applications get no reply at all, so silence on its own doesn't
mean something is wrong. Check five things, in this order: whether your applications
actually arrived, how many you've sent, whether the roles fit you, what you answered on the
forms, and how fast you answer a test invitation.

## 1. Did your applications arrive?

On a company's own careers page, the company usually emails a confirmation within a minute.
88% of JobsEye's applications got one, a median of 5 seconds after sending. If you got no
confirmation, check spam, then the employer's candidate page. An application that never went
in looks exactly like a rejection that never came.

## 2. How many have you sent?

Among people who applied through JobsEye between 29 August and 20 October 2026:

| Applications sent | Shortlisted |
|---|---|
| 50+ | 71%, within 12 days |
| 20 to 29 | 25% |
| 10 to 19 | 7% |
| Fewer than 10 | nobody yet |

If you've sent fewer than 20, the most likely answer is: not enough yet.

## 3. Do the roles fit?

Apply to roles whose stated experience, skills and location you meet. Many applications to
roles that don't fit bring quick rejections. About 1 in 5 of JobsEye's applications got a
written no; most of the rest got no reply.

## 4. What did you answer on the form?

Screening questions can rule you out before anyone reads your resume: notice period, current
and expected CTC, work authorisation, location. Answer them the same way on every form, and
truthfully.

## 5. How fast do you answer a test?

Several first rounds are an online test (HackerRank and similar), not a call. An invitation
can come within hours of applying. Treat it as the interview call and do it the same day.

## FAQ

**I applied to 100 jobs and got no response. What should I do?**
Check that they arrived (a confirmation email from each company), that the roles fit, and
that your form answers are consistent. Most applications get no reply; the shortlists come
from the ones that fit.

**Why am I not getting interview calls in India?**
Usually one of: too few applications, roles that don't fit, form answers that screen you
out, or applications that never arrived. Check them in that order.

**How long should I wait before deciding it isn't working?**
In JobsEye's data, the 50+ group was shortlisted within 12 days of the application that got
the call. Give 50 well-fitted applications about two weeks.
